AGE GROUPS

At Corner House children are cared for in three age groups.
We have 30 places for children under 2 years of age, 26 places for children 2 to 3 years and 28 places for children 3 to 4 years.

Effectively this means that children will not need to move rooms more than twice during their time at nursery minimising disruption and upset for both children and parents. Starting nursery and moving between age groups can be worrying for little children and our staff are sensitive to their needs, helping them through the changes by staying with them on short visits to the new group, over several weeks until the child is happy and settled.

Little Ladybirds…Has rooms on both the ground and upper floor of the main building.
They have places for up to 15 children, 6mths to 2 years and a team of 4/5 staff.

Tiny Tadpoles…Has three rooms on the first floor of the main building.
There are 15 places for children 6mths to 2 years and a team of 5 staff.

Busy Bees… Have 3 rooms on the ground floor of the main building.
They have up to 26 places for children 2 to 3 years old and a team of 6/7staff.

Bright Butterflies and Careful Caterpillars… Have two pre-school rooms situated in annexe classrooms in the garden. Bright Butterflies has 12 places and Careful Caterpillars has 16 places for children 3 to 4+ years. A team of 5 staff work with both classrooms.
Staff work towards the five 'Every Child Matters outcomes'. Its main aims are for every child, whatever their background or circumstances, to have the support they need in order to:
